If you struggle to help children understand they are not responsible for the actions of an adult, this is an important resource for you.  Mrs. Still captures the myriad of emotions that often plague children when their parents are going through a divorce and identifies positive solutions for children to consider.  As a former school counselor, I realize the importance of this book and encourage you to add it to your resource library.  Katie Has Two Homes is a must have for every elementary school counselor.

With the current divorce rate in America projected at 50%, there is a population of millions of children who face so many extreme adjustment issues as they often struggle daily to cope with grief and guilt.  Such profound wisdom is conveyed by Mrs. Still in KATIE HAS TWO HOMES, as her beautiful story gives children “permission” to still be okay even if their parents have not been.  This book is an invaluable tool in helping children find their “new normal”, as well as giving any adults in their lives the language and dialogue to help them.  Any professional counselor should have KATIE HAS TWO HOMES to use as a resource in their individual and family sessions, as well as recommend it for families to add to their personal libraries as children with divorced parents write their own “life story”.
